Have you ever had a dream? Then you woke up in the morning and wandered what that was all about. Sometimes we have dreams that make no sense at all…sometimes we have dreams that make us think “Why did I dream that?” In two weeks we launch a new series called “Dreams” – this is based on the life of Joseph. Joseph had dreams, and his dreams were about what was going to happen in his life. Don’t miss this cool new series starting September 12th.

Colors!

It really is amazing at what colors can do! We just painted our kids auditorium and you will get a chance to see the change if you come this Sunday! WOW! Cool amazing colors brightened the room into an amazing place for us to hear about God and His desire to have a relationship with us. I hope you can make it this week as we finish up our last movie for the summer. UP part 2

BIG NOISE!

A Big Noise is coming! Yes, you heard that right, a “Big Noise” is right around the corner! This year we will be kicking off our teamKID season with a “Big Noise!”

On Wednesday September 8th we will have our first ever “Big Noise” worship & game night to launch our new teamKID Wednesday season. Do not miss it. We will start at 7pm and go until 8:30pm. Pizza, drinks, and candy will be available for purchase at 6:30. Hope you can make it – were going to make a BIG NOISE!

I’M HUNGRY!

OK, So i started the Daniel Fast this past Sunday along with everyone else that is doing it in the church. I am amazed that by removing meat, eggs, and dairy, how hungry I seem to be. Being hungry is not such a bad thing sometimes. We should always be hungry for more of God’s Word. We should feel the hunger pains in us when we don’t read it enough. When I don’t read my bible, I feel disconnected from God, and I should. I hope you are hungry for God’s Word when you are not in it enough, if you are, that is a good sign that you are growing closer to God.

Fall is coming…

I love the fall! Not falling, the season of fall is what I am talking about. Of all the seasons of the year, the fall is my favorite. I think I like the cooler weather, the leaves changing colors, and the sports! FOOTBALL! I love to watch it, follow it, and coach it. Last night was our first practice of the year, and even though the cooler weather is not here yet, fall is coming. And with fall coming, our new teamKID Wednesdays will launch very soon. If you are in K thru 5th grade this fall – Starting September 15th, you will want to be at our Wednesday night teamKID! Don’t miss it!

Blown away…

Well, I am back from the beach. I had a blast hanging with my family and just enjoying all the stuff at the beach…especially ice cream at Calabash Creamery! One of the things that I have always enjoyed about the beach is the breeze that comes off the ocean. I like to sit on the deck and enjoy the cool breeze in my face. Something that I never really noticed until this year, was that I wasn’t having to swat at bugs buzzing around in the air. I realized that the breeze keeps them away because they are not strong enough or heavy enough to handle it. It got me thinking that the ocean breeze is a lot like the voice of God…if we keep His voice in our hearts and Word (Bible) always before us, we can handle the temptations (bugs) of this world a lot easier. When we don’t have the voice of God and His Word in our heart, the bugs tend to be able to get to us.

Sitting at the beach…

Summer Camp was amazing!

If you didn’t get the chance to go to Summer Camp this year, I want to encourage you to make sure you don’t miss it next year. We had such a good time. We took the biggest group of kids this year! We had 66 kids go along with 10 leaders. We had a blast playing in the lake, climbing the wall, and playing with our friends! Our theme this year was “The Road Less Traveled”, and we discussed how we need to make the uncommon choice in order to experience all that God has for us.

Water…

I was drinking a bottled water this morning, and I was reminded about the importance of water to my existence. My body is made up of more than 60% water, my blood is 92% water, my brain and muscles are 75% water. WOW! That is a lot of water. Another amazing fact is that I can survive for a month or more without eating as long as I have water. But if I don’t have water, I may only last a week.

Water is the key to my body being able to survive physically. The Bible is the key to my spiritual life surviving in this world. Our spiritual growth is dependent on my connection to Jesus through His word.

Just like No Water = No Life, is also applies, No Bible = No Life!

Graduation

This past week high school seniors from all around graduated. They no longer have to go back to school, though most will probably go to some sort of college in the fall. The same is true for some of you.

On July 4th we will be saying good-bye to our 5th graders and welcoming a new group of kindergarten students upstairs. Please make every effort to be there 5th graders! This will be last Sunday that you are allowed to come upstairs as an elementary kid. You can of course volunteer to serve upstairs in the fall, if you’re interested.
