My Glasses

admin | June 30, 2009

I am very thankful for my glasses.  Why?  Well, about a year or so ago, as I was reading I noticed that things were looking a little blurry.  I read a lot and like to read, so, I went to the eye doctor and he told me that I needed glasses.  So, about a week later, my glasses arrive and now I can see again! It is kind of the same with God’s Word.  When we read and learn about God we start to see things the way God see’s things.  Be sure to spend a lot of time in God’s Word, so you can see!  Now go and read 1 Samuel 16:6-13. The STAR word is located at the end of verse 7 and it is what the Lord looks at.

Medicine

admin | June 16, 2009

This morning I woke up with a bit of a scratchy throat and stuffy nose.  The first thing I thought was, “I cannot be sick at camp!”  So on my way to the office this morning, I stopped by Walgreens and got some medicine and a grape juice!  I hope that works and gets me over the yucks.  Summer camp is right around the corner and we will be looking into the lives of four different people who “Broadcast” their faith to others.  Why should we broadcast our faith?  In Matthew 5 verse 16 we are told to let our “good deeds” or “light” shine for all to see.  GO read this verse and the STAR words are what people do after seeing our light shine!

Blueberries & The “Baptist”

admin | June 8, 2009

This morning I ate a blueberry muffin for breakfast.  As I sat here at my desk consuming this delicious muffin, I wondered, “Hey, who came up with the idea to put blueberries in a round little cake?”  So I started digging…NO, not in my muffin, online.  I started Googling the blueberry muffin.  I found out that a woman named Harrieta Van Winkle is often credited with the invention back in the year 1244.  However, what is even more interesting is that she invented them as a protest against the English invasion of Scotland.  Little did she know that her blueberry muffin would be enjoyed by millions of people throughout history.  What will you do in your life that will make it’s mark on history and mankind.  John the Baptist made his mark on mankind as the “one who prepared the way of the Lord.”  Go read about John the Baptist in Matthew chapter 3 verses 1 – 17.  The STAR words are located in verse 4.  (hint: they were his food)
