Take a Nap!

admin | February 22, 2010

Are you a nap-taker?  I know that when I was younger, I hated taking naps!  It meant that I was missing out on something more fun!  Do you ever feel that way when you have to take a nap?  Like you are missing out on something?  Now that I am older, I love taking naps and dozing on the couch.  I still feel sometimes like I am missing an opportunity to do something fun, but then I realize that naps are fun and can be enjoyed.  Let me encourage you to take every opportunity to make the most of every day, for you don’t know what tomorrow may bring!  This weeks STAR verse can be found in Proverbs 27:1 – copy it down and bring it in on Sunday!

The Winter Olympics

admin | February 15, 2010

The Winter Olympics started this past weekend and it is time for me to cheer on good old TEAM USA!  If you have never watched the Olympics before, I would encourage you to watch a few events, or catch some of the action.  What I like about it is that amount of training that these athletes go through.  Most train for years for that one moment to win the Gold.  If they fall short, they train 4 more years to compete again.  WOW!  Talk about dedication.  How dedicated are you?  A lot of us can say that were dedicated, but your true dedication comes out in how well you train.  Are you dedicated to God?  It shows in how much time and energy you spend with Him!  Spend some quality and quantity time with God this week!  Start in Joshua chapter 1 verse 8!  This is our STAR verse this week!

And the winner is…

admin | February 8, 2010

The New Orleans Saints!  Congrats to the Saints and fans of the Saints.  I was pulling for the Colts, but wasn’t upset that the Saints won.  Why?  Because I can remember back when the Saints were often referred to as the ‘Aints!  In other words, they were not good at all, and they were good at being “not good.”  So for them to finally win a Super Bowl after being bad for so long, does give us something to chat about today.  It reminds me of how I am “not good” – the Bible says in Romans 3:23 – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” In other words, we all are “not good!”  The coolest thing is that we all have the choice to connect our lives with Jesus and be forgiven and be “winners!”  Have you become a “winner” yet?  It is not that hard to do…it is simply asking Jesus to come into your life and be your Lord and Savior! If you have never done this and don’t know how, talk to mom or dad, or come talk to me about it. Our Star Verse for this week can be found in John 3:16.
